What ages do you accept for Year-Round Nature School? +
We accept children ages 8 months through 6 years in the Year-Round Nature School. Our mixed-age environment helps younger children learn from older peers, and older children develop leadership and empathy naturally.
Do I have to commit to all 5 days? +
No! You choose 1 to 5 consistent days per week that fit your schedule. The key word is "consistent" — we ask that you attend the same days each week so your child can build a routine and friendships.
Is there a waitlist? +
No waitlist! Enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year is open now. Schedule a tour, fall in love with HOK, and your child can start shortly after. Call or text 910-581-7305 to get started.
Why is a tour required before enrollment? +
We want every family to feel completely confident before their child's first day. A tour lets you walk our outdoor spaces, meet the teachers, see the daily rhythm in action, and ask every question you have. It also helps your child feel comfortable when they arrive on day one.
What does a typical day look like? +
Every day includes free outdoor play, group activities, nature exploration, art, and circle time. We follow the seasons — planting in spring, splashing in summer, crunching leaves in fall. No two days are exactly the same, and that's the point! Children thrive when they're curious and engaged.
How is tuition billed? +
Tuition is billed monthly on a 15th-to-15th cycle. There is a one-time $75 registration fee due at enrollment. Monthly rates range from $140 (1 day/week) to $520 (5 days/week). See the tuition table above for all rates.
Do you offer a summer program too? +
Yes! HOK runs a Summer Nature Camp from June 15 – August 14, 2026, with 8 themed weeks including water park, gardening, camping, science, and more. It's open to ages 18 months – 10 years. View the Summer Camp schedule →
